I grew up in the Methodist Church . I have very fond memories of my childhood at Elizabeth Chapel in Waynesville, NC. This is where I first learned about Jesus and will always be a special place for me.
I have attended various types of denominations and congregations in my walk with the Lord. I go where He leads me. That path has been very diverse and I've meet some wonderful people among the way and learned many lessons.
Currently I attend the Holy Cross Episcopal Church with my husband. I saw God's hand in leading me there. I obey him in all things, but it also makes me very happy. Even after one visit, I knew it was where I should be and my husband felt the same way. What a wonderful church home it is!
My husband grew up in the Episcopal church, so for him, it is like going home. It is beautiful to me too, it is like the Methodist church in some ways. Not surprising since the Methodist church has Anglican roots.
One thing I love about both denominations is that they do reach out to the world and are very welcoming. The Episcopal Church says "The Episcopal Church Welcomes You". The UMC says "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors".
It is appealing to reach out into the community and beyond ourselves. This not only helps others we reach out to, but gives a greater purpose and fulfillment to ourselves.
I hope you enjoy what you see in this blog. Some of the older posts, I transferred from my Live Journal when I decided to make a blog dedicated to my Spirit Walk.
Though this blog is a log for me, so I can keep some things that are important to one all in one Spot, I am glad to share this with the public.
